About this project

The Old Vicarage in Manaccan Cornwall is a Grade II listed holiday home.

The decorator, Joel Endersby Heritage Restorations, has used KEIM on a number of projects and recommended the products on this property.
The limewashed render had been painted over using an acrylic based paint which was becoming unstable The surfaces were cleaned and coatings were removed using the ThermaTech system, which removes paint using superheated water.
Once all previous acrylic coatings were removed, KEIM Fixativ was applied onto the limewashed lime render to consolidate the surface .

A coat of KEIM Soldalit Grob was used to cover any textural variations from the repairs KEIM Soldalit ME, in colour 9354 was the system chosen due to the proximity of the tree canopy in the surrounding area, with its formulation to resist mould and algae growth.

The internal lime plaster of the property was restored using KEIM Granital Dilution, followed by two coats of KEIM Optil, in colour 9357, to ensure breathability and durability.

Joel commented โ€œIt was a real privilege to be able to work on this beautiful property, the old vicarage is full of not only character but rich in history.

In order to preserve this building and restore it for the future, much care and attention was placed on the type of materials used. For us, the only product we could be confident in to use for the surface coatings came down to KEIM, the quality and durability whilst allowing the building to breathe was of upmost importance.

The specification from KEIM fulfilled, as always that brief, the owners were thoroughly delighted with the finish, and we can be confident that this building will continue to be protected well for many years to come.
