About this project
103 β 105 St Peterβs Street, in the heart of St Albans has recently been converted and transformed from dilapidated offices into three beautifully restored Georgian Townhouses, and 10 new build mews houses.
A local accountancy firm occupied the iconic Grade II listed former office for 30 years, which has been empty since 2014. The redevelopment took place during 2021-2022 during which Foxley Group transformed Number 103 into a four storey, five bed house, and Number 105 into a pair of two storey homes. The 10 three storey mews houses are located at the rear of the building.
The exterior of the building was looking tired with lots of paint peeling off the facades, due to a previous conventional, masonry paint being coated over the render, which led to moisture ingress. We recommended the removal of the existing coatings, particularly where there was evidence of delaminating and blistering paint to allow full breathability.
KEIM Spachtel, a mineral filler, was used to help feather in areas where the paint was removed. The KEIM Royalan system, in colour 9477, was applied to create a durable, breathable finish. The building was designed by the same architect who designed St Albans Town Hall, which was also decorated in KEIM Royalan, completed in 2019.
