Discover our fascinating KEIM colour shades!

Careful selection of colour pigments combined with decades of experience in the production of high-quality silicate paints - this is what the products of the company KEIM stand for. Mineral colours from KEIM inspire with their colour effect and materiality. KEIM paints are not just a coating material:

  • Colours underline, accentuate and affect.
  • The crystalline glow of a mineral paint from KEIM is already evident in the colour powder.
  • KEIM paints create depth and vibrancy.

KEIM Palette exclusiv

The arrangement of colours in the KEIM Exclusiv colour chart does not strictly follow the colour wheel, but is rather arbitrary. Saturated and dark solid tones are presented first, followed by yellow and red tones, which in turn are replaced by yellowish nuances. This is followed by green and blue shades, with various brownish and grey shades in between. The sequence of shades also includes variations in brightness. In most colour series, the saturation decreases with increasing brightness. The number of gradations varies, sometimes there are 8, in other cases only 3. The visual distances of the brightness are approximately the same in some colour series, while they can be different in other series. Especially with the light shades, a larger selection is advantageous, as even shades that are close to each other can look very different on the surface. The colour range is particularly suitable for architectural design, as it offers shades that are strong yet unobtrusive. For striking colour accents, the intensive solid shades are available.

KEIM Avantgarde

The KEIM Avantgarde colour card is based on the polychrome colour scheme of the 1920s. It includes a multitude of perfectly coordinated colours of that time in fascinating harmony with each other. In keeping with the spirit of the most influential representatives of colourful building at the Dessau Bauhaus, the selected colour tones convey individuality and joie de vivre in their lively and differentiated colourfulness today as they did then. For both exterior and interior use, the division of this colour chart into two parts makes it amazingly easy to view countless colour combinations and thus facilitates selection of the desired colours.

KEIM Edition Historical

What is interesting about monuments is their distinctiveness, their difference from what is common today. For historical monuments, this is essentially controlled by the colour scheme; material illusionism is deliberately created. KEIM has created the KEIM Edition Historic colour range from its traditional responsibility for the optimal protection of listed buildings. The initial work is based on the originally used colour tones on Wilhelminian style facades in central Germany.

KEIM Natural stone shades

Just like the diverse mineral composition of natural stones, the KEIM natural stone map visualises a wide range of colours with 60 shades. These shades are based on the natural colouring of stone types from different regions of Germany that have been used for building purposes. For example, sandstone shades are represented, ranging from yellowish to brownish tones, some of which can have violet nuances. Natural stones reveal a variety of colours when viewed from close up. But viewed from a distance, these nuances blend into a uniform colour impression that can be imitated by means of paint colours. It is precisely this colour impression that the colour chart reflects. These colour shades are particularly suitable for the restoration or design of facades with natural stone as well as in their surroundings. The mineral binder completes the appearance of the colour shades in a natural way.
