It is often a common mistake that biocides are used in all facade insulation materials. It is unfortunate that actually biocides are widely used as a supposedly cheap solution to the build-up of algae - eventually effecting nature, the surroundings in which you live and even your garden. The effectiveness of biocides on facades is actually very limited. On average, all traces are lost in our environment after about four years.. If you then have to retouch the biocide coat with a further one, the cheap facade soon becomes very expensive.

How does AquaROYAL work?
KEIM AquaROYAL is a closed render and coating system which is characterised by the exactly coordinated, hygrothermic behaviour of the individual coats. The guarantee for the functioning of the KEIM AquaROYAL system is the strict allocation of the individual components. The base coat, finishing coat and paint are clearly defined and can neither be combined at random nor used in different thicknesses. "Hydroactivity" is the term for the interaction of the different layers in the moisture balance.
And it is based on the exactly adjusted behaviour of the individual coats. The overall higher render thickness means that the significant functions are transferred onto individual coats, through which protection against the elements is guaranteed by the base render, while the top render and coating can absorb and intermediately store moisture, if necessary.
The capillary-active moisture transport within the top render layer and the high diffusion ability of the coating ensure an unrivalled drying rate. By using mineral renders and paints, the KEIM AquaROYAL System also scores points due to its particular colour-tone stability, a reduced tendency to get dirty and, depending on the insulation material chosen, first-rate fire protection.
The hydroactive principle of action
Moisture promotes algae growth. Insulated facades are more affected by this because they are colder on the surface and therefore damp for longer. Product systems must therefore be coordinated in such a way that driving rain is drained away via the facade and condensation cannot form. KEIM AquaROYAL fulfils these requirements in an outstanding manner.
