KEIM congratulates on the Heinze Architecture Award 2022
As part of the three-day Heinze Climate Festival in Dรผsseldorf, the Heinze ArchitekturAWARD 2022 was presented on 3 November 2022. This award is presented annually to the best projects by German planning offices over the past five years - alternating between residential and non-residential construction.
We would like to congratulate all the winners and especially the architectural office Keller from Waldshut-Tiengen for winning the special prize Interior as well as the architectural office Bohl, which came second in the category Public Awards.
We are pleased to be able to count such special objects among our projects and wish both offices continuing success and creativity!
Conversion and refurbishment of a villa from the 1930s in Waldshut-Tiengen
Klaus, Andy and Kathrin Keller have breathed new life into a 1930s house and created a home for a young family for contemporary, flexible living within the old walls. The building concept is based on the particularly sustainable concept of "building on" in order to preserve material values of the existing building. High-quality, healthy living materials were used - such as KEIM Innostar, an ultra-covering interior paint, awarded Cradle to Cradle Certifiedยฎ Silver and C2C Certified Material Health Certificateโข Gold.
The "Black House" in Wolfhagen
With the "black house" in Wolfhagen, the architect couple Nina and Michael Bohl wanted to show that architecture can also be more daring without being provocative. Constructing the building entirely of wood was a general decision in favour of renewable raw materials and of course sustainability. The facade is made of local larch with a rough sawn finish. The idea behind the colour of the facade was to create a dark, rough, but clearly contoured sculptural body, which on the one hand is eye-catching, but on the other hand can also be restrained in the surroundings of dark gable roofs. The facade is protected by the mineral wood coating KEIM Lignosil-Color.
