New binder tank for KEIM

The desire for environmentally friendly, sustainable and healthy materials - free of harmful substances and without the addition of preservatives or solvents - is becoming increasingly important among building owners. To accommodate the growth of recent years, we are expanding our production capacities at the Diedorf site and installed a new binder tank. With a volume of 43 m3 , it increases the stock reliability of potash water glass and silica sol. Along with the inorganic colour pigments, these mineral binders are the main component of KEIM's mineral paints. They ensure that paint and plaster bond together indissolubly according to the adhesion principle of "silicification", making the paints extremely weather-resistant, durable and bright.

The installation of the tank with a height of 8.20 m and a diameter of 2.90 m was technically extremely challenging. The production roof had to be opened in order to position the tank precisely with the help of two truck-mounted cranes. To control the new binder tank, an additional control cabinet was installed at the same time, which also provides reserves for the installation of further tanks.

After investments in logistics and new production technologies, this is a further step to meet the increasing demand for KEIM mineral products.
