KEIMFARBEN was nominated for the German Sustainability Award for the second time in a row and is now one of the three finalists in the paints and coatings sector. This shows that the world's leading specialist in mineral building protection is among the best when it comes to combining economic success with environmental protection and social responsibility in a special way. In the nomination round, expert juries selected the pioneers from 100 industries and finally awarded three top places - the TOP 3 - in each case. KEIM was able to assert itself against a large number of competitors and convince a top-class team of over 150 experts.
In 2023, the German Sustainability Award will be presented for the 16th time to companies with groundbreaking contributions to the transformation towards a sustainable future. It shows the best examples of how ecological and social progress can succeed more quickly. As the largest prize of its kind in Europe, the DNP pursues the goal of encouraging business and the municipal sector to act sustainably and to disseminate successful solutions.
Sustainability was already in KEIM's cradle, as the company's founder A.W. Keim felt obliged to be mindful of future generations 145 years ago: "We want to live, work, wrestle, fight and care for our fellow human beings, work for posterity, so that it may be better on earth". The company is still committed to this motto today and has been able to prove its pioneering role countless times in the company's history.
KEIMFARBEN achieved a quantum leap in sustainability last year: More than 60 products received the Cradle to Cradle Certified® certification in silver. The products represent over 80 % of sales in the most important product range area of paint. All products were also awarded the C2C Certified Material Health CertifcateTM Level Gold. This puts KEIM at the forefront of the construction industry and strengthens its role as a role model for healthy, circular products.
The KEIMFARBEN brand thrives on a high standard of durability and quality of the paint products supported by continuous innovation work. Rüdiger Lugert, Managing Director KEIMFARBEN, sums up the company's mission: "The longest-lasting, most natural and healthiest - simply the best colours in the world! This is how we want to design people's living spaces in an innovative, creative and resource-conserving way." And he adds: "For us, sustainability means care and precaution and is much more than an economic principle. It is the most valuable connection between generations."
The DNP awards ceremony will take place in Düsseldorf on 23.11.2023. We at KEIM very much hope to be the winner in the industry.
