KEIM Janus
Clay-lime render for interior use: CO2-reduced. Reversible. Reusable.
Old values, new ideas β shaping a sustainable future
KEIM Janus represents the perfect balance between tradition and innovation, bridging the past and the future. By combining two time-tested natural materials β clay and lime β it creates a modern, mineral, and fully recyclable render. Its reusability allows the material to be processed and reused on-site, promoting sustainable construction practices.
The addition of lime as a binder to the nearly CO2-neutral clay enhances the stability of KEIM Janus, making it far more durable than pure clay renders. This makes it an excellent choice for interior spaces subject to higher wear and tear. Furthermore, KEIM Janus boasts significantly lower embodied energy compared to traditional lime, lime-cement, or gypsum plasters.
By blending the strengths of clay with the versatility and reliability of lime, KEIM Janus offers outstanding processing properties and sets a new standard in sustainable building materials.
Aesthetic spaces: natural and authentic
Whether you choose a vibrant texture or a velvety matt surface, KEIM Janus gives you an authentic, natural feeling and radiates calm elegance. It brings together creativity and craftsmanship to shape truly unique interiors. Whether coarse or fine grain, KEIM Janus can be modelled, textured, felted or smoothed as desired β even over large areas.
The render creates new possibilities for sustainable design and provides the optimum substrate for further application of KEIM silicate paints. KEIM Janus is used to create ecological, healthy and aesthetic interiors, naturally without the addition of solvents, preservatives and plasticisers.
Recycled render β a revolution in sustainable construction
Reversible and recyclable
If necessary, KEIM Janus can be removed from walls along with the KEIM paint and reused as recycled render. The removal process can be done manually with a scraper after wetting the surface or mechanically in its dry state using a render milling machine. The fine-grained granulate produced can be directly reused on-site in a 1:1 ratio as an admixture for new KEIM Janus render mixturesβan ecologically sustainable and forward-thinking solution.
