Kingston Buildings, Bath Abbey, Bath

Nos. 8-13 Kingston Buildings were built in 1819-20 and were used as residential properties and offices. The houses are two/three-storey high with cellars under the street. As there was no external space, apart from a narrow-shared yard to the south, vaulted cellars were built below the adjacent street for coal storage and laundering.

The acrylic-based painted stone was removed and render repairs were carried out to the Kingston Buildings. KEIM Contact Plus was specified to equalise surface texture from the repairs. KEIM Soldalit-ME was then applied to give a fresh finish.

The lime pointed stonework was treated using KEIM Fixativ as a dust suppressant in the vaults.
