Breathing Life into Heritage: Tackling Moisture with KEIM Mineral Paints
Welcome to Breathing Life into Heritage: Tackling Moisture with KEIM Mineral Paints
Come join us on Wednesday 12th November at 13:00 in Unit 301 at the Business Design Centre for an in-depth session exploring the challenges of managing moisture in historic and listed buildings and how KEIM Mineral Paints offer a sustainable, breathable solution. We will discuss how traditional structures require materials that allow walls to βbreathe,β preventing trapped moisture, salt damage, and decay often caused by impermeable coatings.
Attendees will learn about:
- The science behind mineral paints, including vapor permeability, Sd values and natural silicate bonding.
- The impact of moisture control on building conservation, longevity, and indoor air quality.
- Case studies demonstrating the use of KEIM paints in heritage projects, including churches.
- Best practices for specifying and applying KEIM paints on different substrates, such as lime.
There will be three keynote speakers, Kevin Foot, a historic building restoration and conservation specialist, as well as Anton Boekhoudt & Bryan Roe from KEIM Mineral Paints.
