Reusable and recyclable!

KEIM Janus New clay-lime plaster for interior use

KEIM, the specialist manufacturer of mineral paints, launches KEIM Janus, an innovative, modern, sustainable, and recyclable mineral plaster. Combining two proven natural materialsβ€”clay and lime, both traditional in plasterworkβ€”it revolutionises interior decoration for both new-build and refurbishment projects.

Architects and interior designers will find in KEIM Janus the ideal means to create authentic spaces that evoke nature, exude elegant serenity, and allow for truly unique interiors.

KEIM Janus represents a significant advancement in our commitment to sustainability. Beyond its aesthetic appeal in interior decoration, KEIM Janus is recyclable and reusableβ€”a completely novel concept in plaster finishes. It can be easily removed from the wall, including the KEIM painted surface, and subsequently reused as recycled plaster. Removal is straightforward, either manually by pre-moistening the surface and scraping, or mechanically in a dry state.

The inclusion of lime as a binder alongside clayβ€”which is nearly carbon-neutralβ€”makes KEIM Janus significantly stronger than plaster based solely on clay. It is particularly suited to interiors with higher performance requirements, thanks to its excellent application properties.

Besides its recyclability and reusability, KEIM Janus is resistant to mould, regulates humidity, and is vapour-permeable. These properties contribute to an optimal indoor climate through effective moisture control and air purification, due to its high clay content, making it universally suitable for interior use.

Clay-lime plaster is a tribute to refined simplicity. Its soft, earthy shades bring balance, creating cosy and healthy environments. The slightly irregular texture, available in both coarse and fine granulations, lends interiors an authentic atmosphere, revolutionising interior design through texture and harmony.

One of the significant decorative qualities of natural plaster is its delicate interaction with light. Its subtly irregular surfaces softly reflect and diffuse light, providing a calming visual effect, highly valued in sustainable construction projects aiming to create comfortable, warm spaces.

This plaster opens new opportunities for sustainable design. It can be left in its natural colour and also serves as an ideal substrate for subsequent application of KEIM mineral paints.

Decoratively, KEIM Janus clay and lime plaster allows an infinite array of creative application techniques. It can be applied in a wide variety of thicknesses and textures, ranging from smooth finishes to more pronounced, textured surfaces, always adding timeless, artisanal elegance.

Choosing KEIM Janus clay-lime plasterfor interior spaces means connecting with ancestral techniques, embracing the beauty of imperfection, and enjoying interiors that embody nature, serenity, and authenticity.
