New CIDETEC Energy Storage Headquarters
CIDETEC Energy Storage is a research and development organisation specialising in advanced battery technologies, designing, developing and testing the batteries of the future for nearly 30 years.
In 2025 it opened its new headquarters, located at the MUBIL Smart and Sustainable Mobility Hub in the Eskuzaitzeta industrial estate in DonostiaβSan SebastiΓ‘n, with the aim of driving research and development of advanced energy-storage technologies.
This new building, home to 150 researchers, offers over 7,000 mΒ² of laboratories for materials research, pilot and scale-up plants for producing different battery formats, and a 400 mΒ² dry room, covering the entire battery value chain.
With these facilities, CIDETEC Energy Storage has tripled its operational capacity and consolidated its position as a European benchmark in the development of energy-storage technologies.
Business activity and paint supplier aligned on sustainability
The construction of this modern building features KEIM mineral silicate paint, combining maximum durability, colour stability and environmental respect thanks to its mineral formulation and chemical bond to the substrate.
Light-coloured surfaces were finished with KEIM Soldalit. Based on KEIMβs sol-silicate principle, this paint is completely UV-stable in both its binder and pigmentation, ensuring uncompromised colour fastness and excellent coverage.
Concrete surfaces were treated with KEIM Concretal-Lasur which, applied in dark shades, evens out irregularities, softens chromatic defects and enhances the natural aesthetic of the concrete, achieving a mineral matt appearance with fully stable pigments.
