Building ensemble GLINT Berlin

On Glinkastrasse in Berlin-Mitte, a multi-part ensemble of listed buildings has been extensively renovated. All four of the GLINT's Wilhelminian-style buildings date from 1873 to 1886 and are typical examples of their time. The buildings were severely damaged during the Second World War and only poorly renovated during the GDR era. The renowned architectural firm von Bothmer has succeeded in transforming the historic into the modern, preserving the neoclassical character of the buildings and giving room to new impulses. The old buildings were harmoniously complemented by a new building and united into an ensemble by a central courtyard.

Sustainable renovation meets historic architecture: The Synergy of KEIM AquaRoyal and GLINT

The exciting interplay between past and future also includes energy-efficient refurbishment measures - including the biocide-free mineral KEIM AquaRoyal insulation system. The system, which has been awarded the Blue Angel, has redefined the benchmark for sustainable façade protection and uses the laws of building physics to minimise algae and fungal infestation as far as possible. The GLINT combines the reinterpretation of historical architecture with sustainable construction and has been awarded the gold pre-certificate by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).
