Two weeks of orientation – new KEIMlings have started!
Every new employee at KEIMFARBEN gets to go through two intensive and exciting orientation weeks at the start – and we can say that this time is absolutely worth it! We also had the opportunity to take part recently and would like to give you a little insight into how we experienced these weeks.
On the very first day, it became clear how diverse our company is: colleagues from a wide range of departments – from marketing and product safety to IT, trainees and the sales force – were there with us at the start. This mix ensured that we not only learned a lot professionally, but also got a really good feel for the people at KEIMFARBEN.
The first week was all about theory. We immersed ourselves in the world of interior and exterior paints, learned about the variety of plasters and fillers, studied composite thermal insulation systems and gained exciting insights into laboratory work. We found the topics relating to concrete and wood systems, surface protection and repairs particularly interesting – areas that many of us had only a vague idea about before.
Another highlight was learning about the history of paints and plasters. We were really impressed to see how much tradition and innovation KEIM has to offer. We also gained insights into the processes of the various departments and the sustainability principles and values that shape our company.
In the second week, the practical week, it was time to roll up our sleeves! We tested materials such as paints and plasters and were able to experience first-hand how theoretical knowledge feels in practice. Working on composite thermal insulation systems was a real highlight for many of us – a topic that you can only really understand once you have tried it yourself.
The feedback from our group was clear: two weeks full of new knowledge, many "aha" moments and a strong team spirit. This time not only prepared us excellently for our start at KEIMFARBEN, but also showed us how appreciative and open the corporate culture is here.
