Quality that lasts - a conversation with a long-time "KEIM fan"

Josef Gerstl shaped the housing industry for over 30 years - the last 20 of which he spent in a leading position as a board member or managing director. During this time, he implemented numerous modernisation projects and new builds, including in Deggendorf, Straubing, Passau, Amberg and Neustadt b. Coburg in Germany.

As a "passionate KEIM fan", he used KEIM products wherever possible. It goes without saying that he has also painted his own house inside and out with KEIM colours: "If you are convinced, you stay true to your line," says Josef Gerstl with a smile on his face.

Mr Gerstl, when did you first come into contact with KEIM?

It was in Straubing at Kreiswohnungsbau about 20 years ago. That was the first time I worked with KEIMFARBEN and successfully used the products as part of a modernisation project. And I was immediately convinced.

What were your favourite reasons for using KEIM products afterwards?

KEIM paints are not only very easy to apply, but also impress with their exceptional durability on the facade - even under demanding weather conditions. Another plus: the application technicians are always on hand with in-depth expertise, practical tips and personal commitment to provide optimum support for every project.

What impressed you most about KEIMFARBEN?

In the area of modernisation, definitely the system structure. The proposed colour concepts could be implemented one-to-one in practice - it was simply perfect. There were also regular free training sessions, from which my team and I benefited greatly. Not forgetting the extremely good cooperation with the competent consultants.

Did you sometimes have to do some persuading internally to get KEIM products used? Which arguments convinced your colleagues the most?

Yes, of course that was the case from time to time. But the quality of KEIM products, the special durability and colour stability, no algae formation on the faΓ§ade and no weathering, convinced everyone in the end.
What advice would you like to give to private house builders and municipal housing associations?
Go for quality. KEIM paints are a product that pays for itself in terms of durability and value retention - both visually and economically.

Thank you very much for the interview Mr Gerstl!
