About This Project

Renovation of exterior Portland stucco facade with KEIM UniversalPutz Render System with KEIM Silan 100 silica gel water repellency protected with KEIM Granital silicate paint.

Challenges Difficult weather climate with high moisture, humidity and freeze/thaw. Over time, the original Portand plaster developed cracks allowing moisture into the facade. Vines growing onto the facade naturally seek this moisture forcing its roots into these cracks, further deteriorating the facade.
Solutions Remove vines and delaminated Portland stucco. Power wash entire surface and repair delaminations with KEIM UniversalPutz Standard Render. Place KEIM UniversalPutz Standard Render with KEIM Glass Fiber Mesh embedded by trowel over entire facade. Finish with top coat of KEIM UniversalPutz Fine Render with smooth sponge float finish. Apply saturation coat of Silan 100 water repellency potected from the UV with two coats of KEIM Granital silicate paint.
